SpongeBob SquarePants is an upcoming animated musical comedy film based on the Nickelodeon series of the same name and the Broadway musical. It will be the first film in the Nickelodeon Cinematic Universe, and it will be produced by Paramount Animation, United Plankton Pictures Inc, Lemon Juice Studios, Dr. Aidan Quinn Creations, LLC, and Nickelodeon Movies. It will distributed by Paramount Pictures and will be released into theaters on May 22, 2020.
