"Race Against the Dimensional Clock."
- Official tagline

LEGO Dimensions: Adrift Into Overtime is an upcoming 2022 American LEGO computer-animated science fiction action-adventure comedy web television series created for HBO Max and Inferno Scope by Trailblazer101, who serves as the showrunner, director, writer, producer, and composer, as a spin-off of the film LEGO Dimensions: Crack in the Multiverse (2021), a follow-up to the video game LEGO Dimensions: Mystify Mad Games (2020), and a part of The LEGO Dimensions Marathon Saga. The series is produced by Warner Animation Group, The LEGO Group, and Imagination Entertainment, and distributed by WarnerMedia Entertainment. It stars the voices of Ben Schwartz, Shia LaBeouf, Zoë Kravitz, Kelsey Grammer, and Gary Oldman. In LEGO Dimensions: Adrift Into Overtime, the trio journey across the LEGO multiverse in an ever increasingly disruptured world to uncover the evil deity's plot in a race against the end.

The series entered development in late May of 2017 under the title LEGO Dimensions Wikia: The Story of the Staff to be an intended spin-off of The LEGO Blazer Movie franchise featuring the user-inspired characters from it then whose basis users were staff members of the LEGO Dimensions Wiki, although, it was canceled by January of 2018 in favor of an original series closer to the LEGO Dimensions plotline as The LEGO Dimensions Show that was made a month prior. That series was canceled in May of 2018 to avoid competition with The LEGO Dimensions Movie at that time until Trailblazer101 acquired the film in November of 2018 before fully committing to it by the next October, and had it use elements from that series in it as LEGO Dimensions: Crack in the Multiverse by January and May of 2020. After Trail developed connections between LEGO Dimensions: Crack in the Multiverse and the video games LEGO Dimensions: Mystify Mad Games (2020) and LEGO Multiverse (2023) for The LEGO Dimensions Marathon Saga, he chose to return to work on the prior two series as a singular spin-off under the official title, and put together their differing episode plans into two blocks with special episodes in-between that were intended for each season.

LEGO Dimensions: Adrift Into Overtime is scheduled to be released on HBO Max and Inferno Scope and will premiere with its' first season on June 10th, 2022, with the first block consisting of 10 episodes concluding on August 12th, 2022, two special episodes releasing on August 19th and August 26th, 2022, and the second block of 10 more episodes releasing from September 2nd, 2022, to November 4th, 2022.

Production[]

The series first entered development on May 31st, 2017, and was created by Trailblazer101 for his production company Trail Blazer Studios under the title LEGO Dimensions Wikia: The Story of the Staff, commonly abbreviated as "LDWTSOTS", as his first venture adapting from the video game LEGO Dimensions (2015), particularly the impacts of that game on the namesake LEGO Dimensions Wiki and its staff members, which were intended to be depicted with their interpretations that were featured in The LEGO Blazer Movie franchise at that time to have the series serve as a spin-off of it, with the characters dealing with multi-dimensional hackers. A suggestion for potential titles for the series as "Staff Running Through LEGO Dimensions Like Morons: The Show" and "The LD Staff Traveling Into Different Dimensions: The Series", although Trail initially chose a simpler title for it. The series was set to premiere on August 10th, 2017, with a pilot episode for a total of 30 episodes, and would've had a storyline following three months after the events of the film The LEGO Blazer Movie that would be told in two seasons with a special episode set to air in the middle of each one. On July 21st, 2017, Trail had pushed back the series' premiere to November 20th, 2018, and on November 24th, 2017, Trail began plotting the second episode as "Break the Rules".

Meanwhile, on December 5th, 2017, Trail created a separate television series inspired by LEGO Dimensions as The LEGO Dimensions Show and featured the character Max from the LEGO Club Magazine alongside original characters Merlock and Samirah, who had been stylized after LEGO Universe (2010). The series was set to feature content, such as characters, objects, and locations, from Trail's custom Year 3 of LEGO Dimensions and it was to be included in that line-up of the game itself. The series was set to debut with a Christmas-themed prologue episode "A Merry Multiverse" that would be made available in the game on December 15th, 2017, and would be followed by a New Year's Day episode "A New Year, New Dimensions" airing on Cartoon Network on January 1st, 2018, before the series' full premiere with the pilot that was set for May 4th, 2018. During Trail Blazer Studios' winter L16 Expo panel on December 16th, 2017, Trail released the synopsis for the prologue episode, confirming that it would center on the protagonists of the game's Year 1 and Year 2 content celebrating Christmas and Lord Vortech's defeat until an evil dimensional demon was set to emerge and would've attempted to thwart their party through a dimensional breach that the new trio protagonists would've had to venture through to save the heroes and the party. At that time, it was revealed that the episode "A New Year, New Dimensions" was scrapped and that some elements from it had been integrated into the prologue.

LEGO Dimensions Wikia: The Story of the Staff was ultimately canceled by Trail on January 5th, 2018, months after the cancelation of LEGO Dimensions and the wiki growing in inactivity, and on January 23rd, 2018, The LEGO Dimensions Show was set to be included in Trail's custom Year 4 instead. On May 15th, 2018, Trail canceled his plans for The LEGO Dimensions Show to avoid competing with The LEGO Dimensions Movie at that time, until Trail acquired that film on November 12th, 2018, and later acquired it entirely on October 1st, 2019, after taking time away from it. Trail later added the three main protagonists, Max, Merlock, and Samirah, from this series to that film on January 25th, 2020, and by May 4th, 2020, it was titled LEGO Dimensions: Crack in the Multiverse (2021), while the evil demon was set as the evil deity for the film. During further development on the concepts of LEGO Dimensions: Crack in the Multiverse and its' tie-in video games LEGO Dimensions: Mystify Mad Games (2020) and LEGO Multiverse (2023) on August 7th, 2020, Trail decided to revive LEGO Dimensions Wikia: The Story of the Staff and The LEGO Dimensions Show into a singular spin-off series as part of their shared franchise The LEGO Dimensions Marathon Saga and be developed by his Imagination Entertainment division, entitled LEGO Dimensions: Adrift Into Overtime, with a release set on HBO Max and Inferno Scope for June 17th, 2022, and further developed a twist with Vortech to expand into other mediums within the saga. These additions and changes were announced during "The Unity Experience" presentation event for Trail Blazer Experience on August 12th, 2020.
